Interactive Games
"Interactive Buddy" is an interactive 'rag doll' mouse click game.
You are given a selection of options of what you can do with 'Buddy', including dropping a range of items.
In this game, an example of an item you can drop is a 'baseball' on the 'Buddy', by selecting the option from the 'items' bar at the top of the menu. Depending on where you click your mouse, a baseball appears and drops beneath the click point onto the character. You can also manipulate where the ball drops when you hold and drag your mouse to change the 'aiming' angle.
I wanted to look at games like this as i am interested in how people might react differently on a range of spectrums within an interactive environment (violently, friendly) in regard of the question of my essay "How does meaning get into the image?".
For example, there are options to choose "Explosives", "God powers" and "Fist", which causes 'harm' and promotes dangerous and malicious activity toward the 'Buddy'.
Alternatively, you can select the far more friendly sounding "Tickle" or "Hand" option depending on your mood and how you want the game to be played; it also reflects how you interpret the game upon startup.

Looking at these games for research allows me to look further into "how meaning gets into the image" through the users interaction through a simple game. It displays how meaning can change depending on the meaning you as an individual create for it.
Similar examples of this can be seen in the "eelslap" website and "spank the monkey" game where the user controls the speed and interaction of the hit with their mouse.
